What comes to your mind when you think of the “New Year’s Resolution”? See the list if it matches yours


Bhubaneswar: It’s New Years Eve and all the precautionary measures due to the pandemic aside, there is no second way to welcome the New Year without a “New Years Resolution” now, no. not!

The Covid-19 pandemic has been here for over two years now. Given the ongoing pandemic and the start of Omicron’s latest variant, New Years 2022, like the past two years, will be greeted without the glamorous parties and mass gatherings. Protecting health is a top priority after all.

However, there is one harmless tradition without which welcoming the New Year may not seem appropriate, and that is to make a new year resolution. We interacted with people and gathered most of them pretty much arranged for these New Years Resolutions:

· Subscribe to a Gym subscription: Lots of people have talked about focusing on their fitness over the next year or so. From signing up to the gym to cutting back on sugar and eating mindfully, their to-do list had it all.

· Stop alcohol: Some said they would try to quit alcohol consumption and set limits on cigarette smoking.

· Reduction of screen time: A considerable number of people said they would check their digital addiction by reducing their daily screen time.

· To save money: This, of course, is a “must-do” for many people. Many have talked about preparing regular planners and checking insane spending.

· Use of a better way of life: For some people, both millennials and seniors alike, pursuing a better lifestyle remains the top priority. They talked about following a discipline and schedule that includes getting up early in the morning, exercising regularly, eating well at the right time, taking time outside of personal and work obligations, and going to bed early.

· Read so many books: A number of people have spoken of making reading books a regular habit. A few people said they plan to read more books in 2022 than in 2021. Others said they plan to take at least 15 to 20 minutes of their schedule each day to read books.

· Try to live happier and healthier lives: It was mostly from the millennials. They told that on the New Year they will consciously try to lead a happy and healthy life.

· Discover a new hobby: Regardless of their age, many people have talked about taking on a new hobby and exploring it as much as possible.

· Attention to mental health: Some people have pointed out that in the coming year; they would prioritize their mental health and stay away from anything and anyone who destabilizes their mental well-being.

· Let yourself cool down a bit: Again, some millennials shared that they took their respective educational and professional careers far too seriously and ended up feeling exhausted. Thus, in 2022, they will allow themselves to take occasional breaks in their studies and work and to relax a bit.

· Engage in social work: A few people spoke of the ups and downs they must have seen in or around their homes amid frequent closings and closings. With those images in mind, they said that over the next year or so, they would engage in some kind of social work.

· Learn to play a new musical instrument: People with a certain fondness for music said they would take lessons to learn to play a musical instrument. The most commonly chosen instruments were the guitar, tabla, flute, keyboard, and cajon.
