Swedish metal band Watain have released their new single, along with a lyric video. This is the second single from the upcoming album, Watain’s agony and ecstasywhich will launch on April 29.
While “Serimosa” tells the story of connecting with an otherworldly power, its predecessor “The Howling” has dark, dark undertones.
“‘Serimosa’ tells the electric notion of the coming of a great power,” noted vocalist Erik Danielsson. The appearance of cracks in the dam that holds back the flow of the great sea. A visitor from beyond, crossing the threshold of the material world.
He continued: “Just like ‘Watain’ – ‘Serimosa’ is a communicated power word/name of unknown origin, appearing in the world without history, to be approached with thought and reverence. . . Thematically, Serimosa also has similarities with the fiery Samhara aspect of Nataraja, the apocalyptic dance of Shiva marking the dissolution of order at the end of an aeon.
