Welcome to this week in pop.

This week, ABBA is dropping # 1 on the album charts, while Elton and Dua hold # 1 single for a second week.

This week’s album charter

# 1: ABBA ‘Travel’ – Music legends ABBA win their first issue in Australia in nearly 30 years as they return with “Voyage”. The quartet’s first studio album since 1981, “The Visitors” features ten tracks written by ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and includes the singles “Don’t Shut Me Down” (# 27 September ’21) and ‘I Still Have Faith In Toi’ (# 39 September ’21). This is ABBA’s second album to top the ARIA charts after the ‘ABBA Gold’ compilation spent four consecutive weeks at No. in December 1992. “Voyage” will be supported by a concert residency, also called “ABBA Voyage”, which will take place in London from May 27, 2022 and will feature the digital avatars of the group.
# 3: Radiohead ‘Kid A Mnesia’ – Marking two decades of ‘Kid A’ (# 2 Oct ’00) and ‘Amnesiac’ (# 2 Jun ’01), Radiohead hit this week’s charts with the ‘Kid A Mnesia’ reissue package. In addition to the two original albums, the set includes a third disc featuring previously unreleased material from the recording sessions of both albums. The re-release of the band’s previous album, ‘OK Computer: OKNOTOK 1997-2017’, peaked at No.6 in July 2017. ‘Kid A Mnesia’ is # 1 on this week’s ARIA vinyl album list.

This is the second track from Malone’s forthcoming fourth album after “Motley Crew” (# July 19, ’21) and becomes his tenth Singles Chart Top Ten.
