The Swedish House Mafia cancels its next concert in Detroit

The Swedish House Mafia will ultimately not come to Detroit.

The electronic music trio has suspended its August 17 concert at Little Caesars Arena. The date is one of five concerts the band canceled on Friday, along with shows in Orlando, New York, Boston and Washington, D.C., Billboard Reports, and this follows the cancellation of shows last month in East Rutherford, NJ, Minneapolis and Phoenix. No reason was given for the termination.

Swedish House Mafia – house music DJs and producers Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso – have announced their reunion tour in October 2021. It’s the band’s first release since splitting in 2013.

The three musicians kicked off their concerts at Coachella in April, headlining the festival’s final night, after Kanye West dropped out of the festival at the eleventh hour. The band were joined by The Weeknd, with whom they teamed up for the single “Moth to a Flame”.

The Little Caesars Arena show was among those included in May’s Live Nation Concert Week, which offered $25 all-inclusive tickets to dozens of local shows.

Ticket holders will be refunded to their original form of payment within approximately 30 days, according to Ticketmaster’s event list.
