As music festivals have picked up across the country, fans are eager to attend one of the biggest festivals of the time: Coachella. Following the cancellation of festivals for 2020 and 2021, the 2022 event lineup is slowly coming together. Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean were all set to perform in 2020, and now the first two will headline next year’s festival, while Ocean will headline in 2023. Today Today, the festival has confirmed the third headliner for 2022: Swedish House Mafia.
According to Brooklyn vegan, Coachella and Swedish House Mafia posted subtle Instagram announcements: the festival posted a photo of the trio, and the group posted a video of âSwedish House Mafia Live Coachella 2022â sewn onto a shirt.
The band last performed at the festival in 2012 alongside the Black Keys. They then took a five-year hiatus before playing Ultra Music Festival in 2018. Earlier this year they released a music video for “It gets betterâ, A dramatic and hopeful sequel to their 2012 hitâ Don’t You Worry Child â.
While the rest of Coachella’s lineup remains unclear, the festival is already exhausted. They also recently changed their entry policy from strict acceptance of proof of COVID-19 vaccinations to also accepting proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of arrival.
Coachella dates are April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022, and will be at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif., As has been the case in the past. Although tickets are no longer available, fans can join a waiting list for the event.
