Try your luck on MANIA…
…and you won’t be disappointed! The world’s number one touring ABBA tribute returns to your very own King Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. MANIA (formerly ABBA MANIA) formed in 1999 and the show has sold out theaters and concert halls internationally ever since. This show has toured the world in their quest to bring the music of the Swedish “Supergroup” to their millions of fans, old and new!
In 2007, it grossed over A$1 million at the Sydney, Australia box office. The show has ventured to France, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, South Africa, New Zealand, Singapore, USA, Australia and South Korea, as well as touring extensively in UK.
The show has been successfully touring the United States every year since 2009 with over 400 performances, many venues book the show every year as it has become a “tradition” for the show and the audience. The thirst for this sensational recreation of abba’s concert grows stronger every year.
Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid, collectively known as ABBA, topped the charts for nearly ten years and had nine UK number 1 hits. At their peak, they became Sweden’s biggest export earner, surprisingly surpassing Volvo car sales. ‘ABBA Gold’ was continuously on the album charts throughout the 90s and is one of the best-selling albums of all time.
ABBA’s timeless songs were written to be enjoyed live and MANIA gives you just that. Two hours of uplifting, danceable and sometimes heartbreaking songs, completely live with fantastic direction, lighting and effects. The show recreates the sound of ABBA not only perfectly, but also with respect. MANIA is not only for hardcore ABBA fans, but also for the new generation of fans, who have never had the opportunity to see ‘ABBA’ live. Hits include ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Waterloo’, ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘The Winner Takes it All’, ‘Super Trouper’, ‘Fernando’, ‘Take A Chance On Me’ and many more that continue to fill dance floors around the world. .
If you’re looking for an excuse to party, reminisce, or just have fun with the best music ever, call the box office at 321-242-2219 or visit KingCenter.com.
Friday, March 17 – 8 p.m. – Get The Led Out – A celebration of “The Might Zep”
From grand and epic to folk and mystical, Get The Led Out (GTLO) has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought him to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based band consists of six veteran musicians who intend to deliver Led Zeppelin live like you’ve never heard before. Using the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, GTLO recreates the songs in all their depth and glory with in-studio overdubs that Zeppelin himself never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album… GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO delivers what audiences want…a high-energy Zeppelin gig with honest, heart-pounding intensity.
Nicknamed by the media “the American Led Zeppelin“, Get The Led Out offers a strong emphasis on the early years. They also tackle the deeper cuts that were rarely if ever heard in concert. GTLO also includes a special “acoustic set” with Zep favorites such as “Tangerine and “Hey, what can I do?”
GTLO has amassed a strong national touring history, having played major PAC clubs and venues across the country. GTLO’s approach to their performance of this hallowed catalog is not unlike a classic performance. “Led Zeppelin are sort of the classic songwriters of the rock era,” says lead singer Paul Sinclair. “I believe that in 100 years they will be considered the Bach or the Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless.”
A GTLO concert mimics the “light and shadow” that epitomizes “The Mighty Zep.” Whether it’s the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues and groove-infused rock anthems, it’s their attention to detail and nuance that makes a Get The Led Out performance a truly awe-inspiring event!
