“I enjoyed listening to it, so in this edit, I just let it talk without interruption. Me, (Cory Henry) and (Dylan Patrice) played a few sounds underneath to intensify the feeling. a bit of writing at the end that i did a single take of w cory in the summer of 2020.
“I came back and added a few words and parts on top of this more recent take. It felt like it matched the wabi sabi of Wim’s words. Merry Christmas everyone (sic)”
Frank hasn’t released an album since ‘Blonde’ in 2016, which he was grateful to release himself after a split from Def Jam Recordings, as he didn’t have to worry about his performance on the charts. .
He said: “With this record [‘Blonde’] in particular, I wanted to feel like I won before the disc came out, and I did, and so it took a lot of pressure off me on how the disc would perform even after the fact. Once the goal is reached, everything else is lagniappe. It’s not essential for me to have a big first week, it’s not essential for me to have big radio records. “
