Eurovision winners Måneskin release new single “Supermodel”

Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin released their new single ‘Supermodel’ today. In other exciting news for Eurovision fans, the song will make its live premiere as an interval during Saturday night’s grand finale!

Måneskin is made up of vocalist Damiano David, 23, bassist Victoria De Angelis, 22, guitarist Thomas Raggi, 21, and drummer Ethan Torchio, 21. The group won last year’s competition. with ‘Zitti e buoni’ scoring 524 points. It was Italy’s third Eurovision win after winning the crown in 1964 and 1990.

“Supermodel” was produced by Swedish record producers Max Martin and Rami Yacoub with SLY. Several teaser videos have already been posted on Måneskin’s social media accounts ahead of the song’s release. A short video was shared online last week featuring the four band members having a drink by the pool with the caption asking, “Fancy a party?”

Måneskin formed in 2016 and finished second in the 11th season of Italian talent show “The X Factor” in 2017. Over the next few years they released several singles, then in 2021 they have won the famous “Sanremo Music Festival” in Italy, giving them the opportunity to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

Since their Eurovision win, Måneskin have enjoyed chart success around the world. The single “I Wanna Be Your Slave” had worldwide success reaching number 15 on the Australian ARIA Chart. The follow-up cover single “Beggin” was a worldwide hit, peaking at number 3 on the Australian ARIA chart and achieving huge success in Europe and the United States.

The group has collected ten diamonds, 185 platinum and 42 gold records across the world and currently has over 4.5 billion streams across all digital platforms.

In October, the quartet will begin their ‘Loud Kids Get Louder’ world tour across North America and Europe, culminating in a show at London’s 20,000 seat O2 Arena in May 2023. Unfortunately, the Australia is not included this time around, but we can only hope they make the trip down on their next tour!
