A nine-day pop-up takes place in New York
Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti Restaurant Comes to New York to Celebrate Universal Pictures’ 20th Anniversary 8 miles. The pop-up event marks the first time Mom’s Spaghetti will be available in New York. The event will be held at Shopify’s New York storefront in SoHo from November 10-20, with the commerce company also fueling food and merchandise sales during the pop-up which features a full selection of special and exclusive editions of Mom’s Spaghetti movies and articles and experiences.
“Twenty years later, we’re serving spaghetti here from a lyric I wrote for the movie,” said the new Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rapper shares. “It started as a joke, but it’s become a reality and I’m so excited to be able to bring this concept from Detroit to New York for the pop-up this month. B-Rabbit would be so proud!

Mom’s Spaghetti – a partnership between Eminem, his manager Paul Rosenberg and Detroit-based restaurant group Union Joints – debuted in 2017. It began as a pop-up event at The Shelter, the legendary Detroit club that was the an early performance venue and meeting place for Eminem. Similar activations followed at various live festival shows and events. The concept name was born from a famous verse from “Lose Yourself”, the single written for the film which sold over 10 million copies and won Eminem an Oscar and a pair of Grammys in 2004. .
Released on November 8, 2002, the semi-biographical 8 miles The film starred Eminem and told the story of his early years as a struggling artist in Detroit. He was recounting his experience in the hip hop scene, including the famous rap battles that helped establish him.
Universal recently released the film in Ultra-HD 4K with high dynamic range for brighter, deeper and more lifelike colors, DTX:X Audio and bonus features.
