Dance music superstar KSHMR has released the full recording of his recent Kashmir DJ set, a performance he called a “really special moment” in his career.
Heading into the middle of a lake with the lovely landscape of Kashmir in the background, KSHMR made a statement. During the hour-long set, aptly titled “KSHMR in Kashmir,” a mix of smooth synths, indulgent percussion, and happy Indian melodies and textures are woven throughout.
Its musical roots are deeply rooted in Indian culture, and the whole represents a beautiful ode to its origin.
EDM.com spoke with KSHMR last year about how his Indian roots influenced the sound and journey of Andromeda Harmonica, his superb debut album. He told us he likes to take otherwise small objects like the harmonica – the main instrument on the album – and make it sound bigger than it is.

“It’s satisfying from a storytelling perspective,” he said at the time. “It’s about picking something small like that and teaming up with Andromeda, something that massive and galactic.”
